Have you seen or taken the Special K Diet Challenge?

It seems like there are millions of diets claiming to be the miracle solution for weight loss. I am not trying to cast aspersions over any one of the multitude, because living in a state of obesity is dangerous to your health and choosing an effective method to lose weight fast and safe is a necessity if you would like to improve your quality of life.

As human beings we are not designed to subsist off of one type of food or food group. You must strive to create a balanced diet of properly proportioned food categories, including carbohydrates, fats, proteins and fiber for digestion. And don't forget that you need as source of minerals as well, the most important of which are calcium and magnesium.

The consumption of fat is not as problematic as advertised. The fat in your body is not a direct result of the fat that is consumed, but rather of the failure to use up the calories ingested as energy. That is the reason that the exercise component is so extremely important There is a degree of fat content in foods like banana and peanuts, but they are not evil because of the fat content they contain. You need to distinguish between the types of fat in your diet, while bacon grease causes high cholesterol and helps to foster weight problems, the fat in virgin olive oil does not.

It does not matter where you grocery shop in America or what commercial television that you watch, if you are conscious in America, you will be subjected to the promotional efforts of Kellogg, and the Special K Diet Challenge. The Special K diet Challenge is a based on Kellogg's effort to encourage the Obese in America to correct the situation by substituting one meal a day with a bowl of SPecial K cereal, or one of the products created therewith, ie Special K waffles, or Special K protein bars. You can try the Special K Diet, however I would suggest that you consult with a nutritionist to ensure that you also consume enough other foods to provide a nutritional balance. You are okay to try the Special K diet, just ensure that you consult a nutritionist to guide you in the process.

It is quite possible that if you try the Special K Diet, that you will Lose weight. However the reason is not because of any special ingredients contained in Special K. The fact of the matter is that by replacing a meal with the special K diet products, you will be reducing you caloric intake, if you undertake the "challenge' just be sure to monitor your remaining food consumption carefully.

Part of the Kellogg promotion of their Special K diet Challenge program is published on the Kellogg Special K website. They have done a nice job of polishing their promotion with options to provide assistance in the form of a Special K Diet Challenge buddy, with coaching available as well. It is always easier to involve yourself in any form of habit change with support from like minded individuals, and many folks can benefit from the online coaching that Kellogg provides as an option, along with email and Facebook based support. The Special K diet is an easy diet plan to follow, and may even be a time saver, as it eliminates food prep time for one meal a day, but the real value is in the realization that the common sense approach to dieting is to restrict your calorie ingestion, and control it by making a better meal plan.

As always I prefer to mention, that the implementation of any diet, may either result in exacerbating an already problematic set of eating habits, and perhaps even have the opposite effect that you desire. Just because something gets promoted by a large corporation, or is published in a magazine, does not make it effective or healthy. If you are not careful, you will not succeed in anything but making yourself less healthy, so ensure that you consult your physician and or nutritionist before you start in a diet. Remember, you can eat everything you already eat, you just need to cut that amount down to a reasonable caloric basis, and add exercise to your daily routine, if you take their steps your health will reflect it.
